Later, Lohse
Kudos to Twins General Manager Terry Ryan for being able to . Of course TR picked on his protege, Wayne Krivinsky, who seems obsessed with acquiring former Twins pitchers whose careers are on the skids. Consider:
Eric Milton
Joe Mays
Kyle Lohse
Eddie Guardado
We got some minor leaguer named Zach Ward, 22, was 7-0, and his 2.29 ERA was ranked fourth in the Midwest League. Nice! Sounds like the next cog in what is going to become MLB's BEST starting rotation for years to come thanks to Santana, Liriano and ... okay, Santana and Liriano.
Truth be told, I think any honest Twins fan would tell you he or she is thrilled Lohse and his whiny ways are on the next bus to Cincy. He's a head case that would make even Sigmund Freud blush, and the Reds should enjoy watching him implode on a regular basis in the National League.
And to get a stud young arm like Day for a middling and at best No. 4 starter like Lohse? That's why Terry Ryan needs to be GM of The Year every year. He pulls diamonds out of dirt and keeps restocking the Twins with incredible young arms. This team is going to be LOADED thanks to deals like this.
