'Roids

Is it just me or would baseball be better served by ADMITTING it has had/does have a HUGE steroid problem and that it has tainted/will taint many of the games most sacred marks (61, 714), rather than continually fighting the federal government every step of the way? We all know the truth - and if you don't, read "Game of Shadows" already! - about 'roids and MLB, so who does Bud Selig, Don Fehr & Co. think they are fooling? Better to come clean, cooperate with the investigation and beg the fans for forgiveness once again. Baseball has survived scandal (Black Sox, Player Strikes, etc.) before and will do so again. The game is bigger than any one personality. That's why we'll always support baseball in some form, even if greedy billionaire owners and cheating players try their best to taint the game beyond repair.
Baseball would be much better off if it stopped fighting the obvious and instead went Keenesaw Mountain Landis on the bit, got tough, cleaned house and restored whatever shred of integrity still remains in America's national pastime. To do otherwise is an ongoing insult to the intelligence of MLB's fan base.
