El Sid

Why not? The Twins will take a chance on the judge-punchin', hard-drinkin', David Wells-physiquin' Aruban with the one good season (17-12, 3.75 ERA in 2003) to his credit - Sidney Ponson.
I like the signing - mainly because it means we're that much less likely to have a Kyle Lohse sighting in 2007. (Phew.)

The Twins have done this before, turning trash into treasure, and the reality is they'll have to with Sir Sidney or somebody else, because this year there's no Liriano and no Radke. Ladies and gentlemen, you're No. 2 starter for the Minnesota Twins is ... uh ... is ... ahem ... well ... uh ... Boof Bonser! Matt Garza? Carlos Silva Bullet? (Pass out the hardhats already.)

Heck, Bert Blyleven needs those 13 wins to get to 300 and complete his Hall of Fame obsession, so why not throw him out there this year? What the #@%$? (Wait - are we live?)

Welcome to the Twin Cities, Sidney. I will not stoop to the level of all the Twin Cities writers who are already making the buffet jokes. I also promise to stay away from you if I run into you while jet-skiing on Lake Calhoun.
