New Cover & FLA trip

Here's what the publisher has come up with for the new cover for The King's Game for the national re-release in March 2007. I'm fired up for the new version of the book to come out, and also have been booking dates for the Spring Tour that starts March 1 in Ft. Myers. From March 1-8 I'll be in Ft. Myers, Orlando and Tampa doing different MLB events (signings before Twins & Red Sox home games in Ft. Myers) and bookstore stuff, and hopefully catching some games as well! I'm planning on blogging all during the tour - I'm sure the masses are waiting with baited breath.
It should be a lot of fun. My wife and our 2 sons are going to tag along and it will be great to escape Minnesota during early March for Florida.
If you have a minute let me know what you think of the new cover! It's going to "bleed" back onto the spine so that's why as a square image it looks a little jagged in places - also I guess that's some of the "artsy" design stuff too...
I have to check with the Cardinals however to see about use of their logo ... if any MLB brain wizards read this, feel free to let me know what the policy is on that. I don't know if it will be a trademark issue or not since this isn't a t-shirt or photo reprint but rather a sketch for a novel. The reason we have a Cardinals player on the front is that STL is one of the teams involved in the book. And no, I didn't jump on the bandwagon after this fall's World Series triumph. I actually wrote the book back in 2001 (first draft, anyway) and have always enjoyed baiting Cardinals fans ever since the 1987 World Series, when it made my cousin Colin (a lifelong STL resident) cry to see Kirby and the Twins take down John Tudor and the Cards.

I really like the cover.
